I know that I haven't been very active on this site and for that I appologize. I want to thank all the people that comment on my page and on my blogs. I am going to try and be more active on here from now on. Just wanted to state that. Have a great Ostara everyone!

Ah self doubt. It haunts me every day. I've been practicing since I was 12 but still feel like I haven't learned enough to really be proud of myself. I still conceder myself a beginner. I always hear about others who have so much knowledge and they have been practicing for a shorter time than I have. I know I shouldn't try to live up to others but it always happens. I don't really know why I'm posting this but I just needed to get it off my chest.   

So tonight I went to my first drum-circle. It was amazing. The energy there was so pure and charged. It went on for three hours. It took place in a shop down in Denver, Spirit Ways. We turned all the lights out and lit a few candles and had some small lamps on so the room was very comfortable. There were probably 20-25 people there. I was truly amazed with it. Everyone was playing perfectly together. There was no real beat to follow but somehow everyone just knew what to do. They switched in and out of different beats seamlessly, as if they had practiced for years. People also just started dancing, not gracefully but just getting out and moving. You could feel the primal energy with every beat. It really was fantastic. I can't wait to go back. 

I don't know how many people have heard of this "documentary" so if you haven't here is what the website says "A growing number of Evangelic Christians believe that there is a revival underway in America that requires Christian youth to assume leadership roles in advocating the causes of their religious movement. Jesus Camp follows a group of young children to Pastor Becky Fischer's "Kids on Fire Summer Camp", where kids are taught to become dedicated Christian soldiers in God's army and are schooled in how to take back America for Christ. The film is a first-ever look into an intense training ground that recruits born-again Christian children to become an active part of America's political future."

 

Now I have nothing against Christians or anything like that but this movie honestly terrifies me. I have only watched a few clips from it and it truly is something that bothers me. There is a part when this man asks who would give their life for Jesus and children not even 10 are shouting, clapping, jumping around saying they would. I just don't know what to say about this. A child that young shouldn't be thinking about things like that, they should be playing or something like that. Just watching those clips made me really worried. Ok so I'm not use to posting a blog so forgive me if I suck ha. I guess I should tell a little about myself. My name is Detarra, I am 5' 8" (without boots) and 6' 2" (with boots). Its rare to see me without a corset or waist cincher on. I have several body piercings and plan to get more. I think I have a fetish for shiny fabrics hahaha. I LOVE pvc and latex. My dream car is a hearse, they're beautiful cars and incredibly unique in the sense that its so rare to find two that are exactly a like. I love movies and music. Music is very important to me. It helps when I draw, paint and write. I have been practicing for about 10 years now I think, I don't remember the exact moment I started practicing. I have tried many paths and finally settled with Green Witchcraft.
